Mumbai registers 1st Win in IPL 8, beat RCB by 18 Runs

Mumbai-IndiansAfter losing four matches in a row, the Mumbai Indians finally registered their first victory in IPL 8, as they defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 18 runs tonight. It was the batting prowess, which worked in favour of Mumbai Indians.

Mumbai Indians posted 209/7 in 20 overs. Lendl Simmons (59), Unmukt Chand (58) and Rohit Sharma (42) were the top scorers. David Wiese took four wickets, while Yuzvendra Chahal took two wickets.

The RCB relied much on Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli to chase down the mammoth total, but they disappointed a lot. AB de Villiers scared the Mumbai Indians with a 11-ball 41. But, his dismissal dented RCB’s hopes. David Wiese tried his best, but that was not enough.

RCB finished at 191/7 in 20 overs and lost the match by 18 runs. Manvinder Bisla (20), AB de Villiers (41), David Wiese (47*) and Iqbal Abdulla (20) were the top contributors. Harbhajan Singh took three wickets and completed 100 wickets in IPL. He was declared ‘Man of the Match’.

South African David Wiese had a dream IPL debut, as he scored 47* and took four wickets.
