10 Places in Odisha record above 40 degrees C on Sunday

Sun-StrokeAt least 10 cities and towns across Odisha recorded above 40 degrees C temperature on Sunday, as the heatwave continues to rise. Angul recorded the highest temperature at 42.7 degrees C. There won’t be any respite from the heatwave in the coming days and the mercury level may go up to 43 degrees C at various places, including Bhubaneswar.

Heatwave will be intense in Western Odisha, it is believed. There could be some rains between 25th and 27th April, which may give little relief to the people, if we believe leading Meteorologist of OUAT, Dr. Surendranath Pashupalak.

According to Dr. Pashupalak, Bhubaneswar and parts of interior Odisha, may witness hailstorm and rains on 25th and 26th April, while Northern Odisha will have rains between April 25th and 27th. There will be relief for the people of Western and South Odisha too during that period.

On Sunday, mercury level touched 42.7 degrees C in Angul. Talcher (41.5), Bhawanipatna (41.2), Hirakud (41.1), Bolangir (41.0), Jharsuguda (40.0), Titilagarh (40.0), Sundargarh (40.0) and Bhubaneswar (40.0) were the other hotter places in Odisha.
