Jaundice claims 4 lives in Bolangir, Engineer suspended

Jaundice in BolangirJaundice claimed four lives in Odisha’s Bolangir, the fourth death of a youth was reported on Friday. The Odisha government suspended executive engineer of Public Health Department (PHD), Bolangir, Bhagyadhara Sahu following spread of jaundice in the district. PHD Chief Engineer, Khitish Chandra Sahu issued suspension order to the executive engineering finding him neglecting his duty to control the wide spread of jaundice.

On Friday, Puran Rajput, a native of Gandhinagarpada in Bolangir died due to jaundice at hospital in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He was suffering from jaundice for last two weeks. It is noteworthy that, as per the preliminary investigation, jaundice virus was found in the drinking water supply by the PHD.
