Insight Bureau: As part of the Digital India initiative of the Indian Railways, the East Coast Railways have decided to provide Wi-Fi connectivity in remote corners and tribal-dominated areas of Odisha.
Free Wi-Fi services will be provided to small stations like Keonjhargarh, Paradeep and Bisamcuttack. Similarly Malatipatpur, Sakhigopal, Birapurusottampur, Delang, Motori, Retang, Mancheswar, Barang, Gopalpur and Balikuda Railway stations will also be provided with free Wi-Fi service in PPP mode by Railtel.
The Wi-Fi services at these railway stations will be available to passengers as well as people who have been frequent visitors there. Users having a smartphone or laptop, will be able to use RailWire Wi-Fi connection.
Free Wi-Fi services already activated at Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Berhampur, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagram, Rayagada, Srikakulam and Sambalpur Railway stations under the East Coast railway Jurisdiction.
