Voters boycott Panchayat Polls at Various Places

Panchayat Polls-OdishaVoters have boycotted the rural polls in several places during the first phase Panchayat Polls which began in Odisha today morning.

Reportedly, villagers of Daruthenga Panchayat in Khurda district boycotted the elections demanding shifting of the dump yard.

The villagers even did not allowed poll officials to reach some polling booths at Anandpur in Kendujhar district.

Meantime, the voters of Dandapani and Dabalapani in Lower Suktel submerged area of Bhadrak have boycotted panchayat polls demanding no change in their panchayat area.

The villagers of K.Baliapal panchayat also boycotted panchayat polls protesting non-fulfillment of basic amenities.

Serious other irregularities are also seen in many villages during the ongoing polls as some miscreants looted the ballot box from booth no 14 under Jagadalpur panchayat in Patkura of Kendrapara district and threw it into the river and Ballot box was torched in Bureswara panchayat of Komana block.

Hemananda Mahakud, Sarpanch candidate of Dapala Panchayat of Boudh district allegedly captured booth as a result the voters demand re-polling.
