Orissa High Court stays Nuapada NAC election

ONI Bureau:  The Orissa High Court on Thursday put a stay on poll to the Nuapada Notified Area Council (NAC) after a petition filed over ward reservation.

Following the stay order, the State Election Commission (SEC) will no longer issue notification for Nuapada NAC on March 9 (tomorrow).

However, election to the two Notified Area Councils (NAC) – Atabira (Bargarh) and Hindol (Dhenkanal) would be held on April 3 while the results would be announced on April 5.

Filing of nomination papers would be held from March 13 to 17 while the scrutiny of nominations is March 19 and that for withdrawal is March 22.
