Sensex gains 330 points; Nifty breaches 8300 mark

sensex and niftyThe benchmark BSE Sensex and the wider Nifty of NSE were closed on higher note on Monday, as the GST bill was introduced in Lok Sbaha on Friday. The banking, auto and FMCG shared pushed the Sensex higher today.

The Sensex closed at 27,701.79 with gaining 329.95 points up (1.21%), while Nifty was closed at 8,324 points with gaining 98.80 points (1.20%).

In the morning, both the stock markets were open in flat, but in the intra day trading both gained the momentum following strong global and domestic cues.

In BSE, S&P BSE 100 gained 1.16%, Mid Cap by 0.92%, Small Cap by 0.35% and BSE S&P BSE 200 gained 1.13%. HDFC Bank, HDFC Ltd, GAIL, ONGC, NTPC, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank and Hero MotoCorp also contributed to the Sensex rally.

The gainers on BSE were BFUTILITIE scrip gained as much as 19.99%, Suzlon gained 7.83%, IIFL by 7.44%, Gintajali by 7.39% and Vakrangee gained 6.67%. Loser were RASOYPR, CEATLTD, INFRATEL,JETAIRWAYS and GESHIP.

On NSE Nifty, gainers were JindalSteel (6.79%), Mahindra and Mahindra (4.23%), Coal India (4.06%), NMDC (3.63%) and Cairn (3.24%). Losers were Hindalco (1.17%), Zee (0.92%), LT (0.64%), HCLTech (0.26%) and Tata Steel (0.17%).
