Key Points from PM Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ Address on August 30

Modi-I-Day1* Land Ordinance will be allowed to lapse tomorrow. Status quo will be maintained. But, 13 points will be notified under the Rules to change the land acquisition law and benefit the farmers.

* 17.74 lakh bank accounts opened by poor under Jan Dhan Yojana and Rs 22,000 cr deposited in them.

* Modi invokes Sufism, Buddhism and advocates religious tolerance. He recently met Sufi Scholars. He also accepted the invitation to visit Bodh Gaya.

* PM Modi expresses deep anguish and pain over Gujarat violence. Nation gets hurt when violence occur in the land of Mahatma and Sardar Patel, he said.

* Government has taken some concrete steps to scrap interviews in small jobs. Those jobs will be given on merit.

* Maharashtra Government has acquired the London residence of Dr. BR Ambedkar. In addition, a grand memorial of Baba Saheb Ambedkar will be built in Maharashtra.

* Cycling has caught up as a trend in many cities in our country and several people are promoting it. I congratulate Mahajan brothers on their success in 4800 kilometer bi-cycle race in America.
