Narendra Modi asks BJP MPs to exercise Restraint

Under fire over the controversial comments made by Union MoS Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti and Lok Sabha MP Sakshi Maharaj in the recent weeks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sought to crack the whip and asked his MPs to exercise restraint while talking about issues in public forums.

“The development work undertaken by the BJP MPs must be visible to public. They should not remain on paper only,” he said. He also asked the lawmakers not to cross the ‘Lakshman Rekha” (limits) by making controversial remarks.

Modi lamented that the communal and controversial comments made by some BJP MPs are actually derailing the development agenda of the government and giving further ammunition to the depleted Opposition to attack it.
