Sonika Roy – Latest Heartthrob in Modelling World

By Priyadarshini Pati: Gone are the days, when girls used to be under the shadows of conventional stereotypes. Today, they love to breach every citadel and impose their thoughts with full conviction. They love challenges and doing things despite all odds. The News Insight got a chance to meet such a girl, Sonika Roy, who possesses that ‘Never Say Die’ attitude.

Sonika started her modeling career in 2014; she was under training at Tiara Training Institute, Pune. Talking to TNI, Sonika shared some tips for the aspiring models who wants to pursue a career in modelling. Besides modeling, she is all set for an Ollywood debut with “Rangila Baba’.

Sonika was among the Top 10 Contestants in Femina Miss India 2015 beauty pageant. Key Excerpts from Sonika’s Interview:

* It was my childhood dream to become a Model. I aspire to be a Supermodel someday.

* Modelling industry is very tough. You need to be fully prepared to take up all challenges and show your confidence and determination to succeed.

* I go to gym regularly and spend 5 hours a day on workout. I take fruits, juices, boiled chicken and lots of salads. I gave up my favourite foods Chinese and Biryani long ago.

* A Model’s body is her mirror. She needs to keep herself fit and slim always. Not only models, but everyone else should concentrate on health, diet and fitness. A 30-min walk everyday and taking healthy foods, will help people to keep themselves fit.

* After finishing in the Top 10 of Miss India 2015, I got an offer opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, but as sister of Sahid Kapoor. That’s why I denied. I am no hurry to work in Bollywood. Let me establish in Modelling industry first and create my own space. I want to emulate Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra who sizzled in Modelling first before entering into Bollywood.

* I am playing a character in Odia movie, “Rangila Baba” opposite Chandan Kar. The movie is based on the recent scandal involving the self-styled godmen in Odisha. Kuna Tripathy is the main protagonist. It is slated for release on October 2.
