Adani Foundation, Dharma Port, CEE organise CSR Workshop in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: A workshop on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) was held here on Friday. The workshop, ‘Sustainable CSR Practices Shared Ideas’, was jointly organised by Adani Foundation, the CSR Wing of Adani Group,  Dharma Port Company Ltd, and Centre for Environment and Education.

Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Chilika Development Authority, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, and Global Environment Facility partnered with the organizers.

Bhaskar Chatterjee, director and CEO IICA, was graced the occasion as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, he focused on the need for CSR wings of companies to be handled by professionals who studied CSR. He said IICA is offering nine-month online course for CSR. He said that the CSR activities have been paying major role in contributing development in the society.

The workshop was attended by many dignitaries and experts. As per the Companies Act, 2013 – CSR is a mandatory provision under the section 135 and companies have been considering it as a part of social inclusion.
