SOA University mourns Demise of JB Patnaik on April 21

JB-SOA1Classes in different institutions under the SOA University remained suspended on Tuesday following the demise of former Odisha chief minister J B Patnaik who passed away at Tirupati in the early hours of Tuesday.

As the state mourned the death of the veteran political leader, condolence meetings were held in the University office and different institutions where floral tributes were offered to the memory of the Congress stalwart.

At the University office, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Amit Banerjee, the Chairman of the Advisory Board of SOA University Prof. Damodar Acharya, the Registrar Prof. B.B.Pradhan, Controller of Examination Prof. S.N.Mohanty and Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Deenabandhu Das, among others, were present at the condolence meeting.

JB-SOA2At the Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), Prof. Damodar Acharya, the Dean, Prof. P.K.Sahu, Dean (Research), Prof. P.K.Nanda and Director (Admissions) Dr. Manas Kumar Mallick led the students and other faculty members in paying tributes to Patnaik.

A condolence meeting was held at the IMS and Sum Hospital where the Medical Superintendent, Prof. P.K.Mohanty, Dean of Institute of Dental Sciences Prof. Neeta Mohanty, other faculty members and students condoled the passing away of Patnaik.
