To tackle further crisis, Odisha To Set Up Health Disaster Mitigation Facility

Naba Kishore Das, the Health Minister of Odisha, stated that the government is planning to set up an NDRF-like health disaster mitigation facility in the state.

An offer has been put forth to the union to establish a health disaster mitigation training centre in Odisha. This centre will be used to imparted progression training to doctors, paramedics & nurses for immediate deployment during future health crises.

“The proposed training centre will be set up in line with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF),” the Minister said following a meeting of the empowered group of ministers on COVID-19 held through video conferencing on Thursday.

Das further added that plans have been made to pave the way for coronavirus testing at all medical colleges in Odisha to conduct 3000 tests a day.
