7 Odisha Labourers Killed In Road Accident; CM Announces Ex-Gratia sum of Rs 2 lakhs

At least seven persons from Ganjam district in Odisha were killed in a road accident in Chhattisgarh on Saturday. The labourers were being ferried in a bus, which collided with a truck head on, near Cherikhedi in Chhattisgarh.

The bus was ferrying 20 passengers to Surat from Ganjam.

Meanwhile, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik expressed deep grief at the tragic death of the seven persons in road accident in Ganjam district. The Chief Minister conveyed his deep sympathy to the bereaved families and announced ex-gratia sum of Rs 2lakh each from the Chief Minister Relief Fund, to the next of the kin of the deceased .

Chief minister Patnaik has also announced free medical treatment to the injured and wished their speedy recovery .

He has directed minister Sushant Singh to immediately proceed to Raipur to extend necessary assistance to the victims of accident .

Sri patnaik also asked DGP to remain in touch with DG chhatisgarh for coordination.
