Abhay appointed as new state DGP by Odisha Government

Odisha government, in a major reshuffle, appointed IPS officer Abhay as Director General of Police, the head of Odisha Police. Abhay replaced current DGP BK Sharma against whom an enquiry was initiated just hours before the declaration.

Likewise, Satyajit Mohanty has been posted as Director of Intelligence and will remain in-charge DGP till Abhay joins. While BK Sharma has been posted as OSD of the Home Department, Sunil Ray will be the new Director of Fire Services and Home Guards.

1986-batch Odisha cadre IPS Abhay is currently working as Director of the National Police Academy. Earlier, he headed the Crime Branch special batch in Odisha.
