Air Travel to Jeypore, Rourkela, Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar @ Rs 2,000

The Odisha Government has allowed Air Odisha to start inter-state airline operations from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela, Sambalpur and Jeypore. While the state government has asked Air Odisha to start the operations within 90 days, the company has decided to begin the flight operations by July end.

To start with, the Air Odisha has decided to fix the airfare at Rs 2,000 per person in all three routes. However, there could be an increase in future. Air Odisha Director Trideeb Rout confirmed that the company has already put a nine-seater plane (excluding Pilot and Co-Pilot) Cessna 208 Caravan on stand-by, which is ready to fly anytime.

The Bhubaneswar-Jeypore flight will take 1:30 hours, while Bhubaneswar-Sambalpur will take 1:15 hours. Similarly, it will take 1:05 hours to reach Rourkela from Bhubaneswar.

At the later stage, Air Odisha will expand its operations to Jharsuguda and Nuapada. Meanwhile, the Odisha Government has decided to provide ambulance, fire tenders and other security services to Air Odisha to conduct its operations smoothly.
