Annual Khandagiri Mela begins in Bhubaneswar

ONI Bureau:  The annual Khandagiri Mela or Magha Saptami Mela started at the foothills of Khandagiri and Udaygiri hills in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

The mela takes off every year on the occasion of Magha Saptami, the seventh day of the holy month Magha.

A large numbers of saints and monks from various parts of the country have gathered at the fair to take part in the yajna rituals.

The fair has hundreds of temporary stalls displaying household items, utensils, stone carvings, handicrafts and many more.

Apart from shopping, the mela provides an opportunity to theatre lovers to enjoy plays staged by various troupes from across the state.
