Aseema Odisha’s Global Conclave Calls for Odia Resurgence

Naveen-OWB1A time when the entire globe marches towards unified cultural entity and inclusive growth, Odias worldwide should come forward to champion the cause of a global village while retaining the cultural identity unique to this age old race, opined Odisha’s Chief Minister Mr Naveen Patnaik at the valedictory ceremony of the Global Odias’ Conclave organized by ‘Aseema Odisha’ – the apex body of Odia organizations worldwide, at Bhubaneswar.

The CM harped upon the great Odia Diaspora and reinforced the need of community endeavor throughout world to protect Odia’s integrated stand on a progressive state. Addressing the nonresident Odias representing various parts of the world and our nation, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Bimal Prasad Das, former Judge of Odisha High Court and Member Krishna water Disputes Tribunal called for redefining the Odia identity by introspection on our tremendous potential. He lauded the excellence exhibited by Odias across the globe and expected that association of Odias worldwide need to work together for up-keeping Odia fraternity.

Naveen-OWB2At the outset Chief Coordinator of Aseema Odisha and Convenor of Global Odias’ Conclave Mr. Kshirod Kumar Jena deliberated upon the growth of this federation named as Odisha without Borders and said that this has evolved as a magnificent endeavor to unite Odias staying at major cities of India and abroad.

The Chief Mentor of Aseema Odisha Mr. Nihar Ranjan Samantara and President of the Global Conclave Mr Suryaprakash Mohapatra depicted on the eventful journey of this transnational forum staging Odia’s excellence.

They elaborated on the growth trajectory of the state since last two decades and said the momentum needs to be furthered for proclaiming Odia’s march towards a glorious future. Eminent Odias having their marks in various areas right from literature to sports were honored on this occasion.

The conclave was inaugurated in the morning in presence of eminent dignitaries like Hon’ble Mr Justice Arijit Pasayat, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and Vice Chairperson of SIT, Union Minister for Tribal affairs Mr Jual Oram, Minister Industries, School and Mass Education, Mr Debi Prasad Mishra, Member of Parliament Mr Baijayant Panda.

Pasayat-Aseema-OdishaTwo Panel discussions on pertinent themes like ‘Entrepreneurship Development’ and ‘Evolving of Brand Odisha’ were held to mark the conclave. Eminent panelists included global petrochemical expert     Padma Shri RN Bastia, Lead Economist of World Bank Dr Dillip Rath, Director Finance of NTPC Mr Kulamani Biswal, Former ADG of BSF Mr PK Mishra, Media Icon Jaggi Mangat Panda, Rameshram Mishra, former Additional Chief Secretary to Govt of Tamilnadu and Brand Expert Harish Bijoor.

The vote of thanks was extended by General Secretary of Aseema Odisha Mr. Bibhuranjan Mishra. The conclave was attended by the Coordinator Dr Debadutt Singh Deo, Secretariat Director Mr Pranab Kishore Pani among a host of other dignitaries representing Odia Associations across the country and the globe, family members, media persons and students.

Some key distinguished Odias, who have achieved a lot in their respective fields, were felicitated on this occasion. They included Dr. Lipsa Nayak (Literature), Rudra Prasad Swain (Art & Culture -Odissi), CS Santakar (Social Activist), Parsuram Dwivedi (Social Activist), Amit Rohit Das (Sports-Hockey), Lalit Patel (Entrepreneur) and Swami Bairagya Nanda (Educationist).
