Balasore Under The Grip Of Anthrax Fear, Carcasses Of Elephants Found

Carcasses of two female elephants were found by forest officials at Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary in Balasore district. The cause of the death is suspected to be due to anthrax.
Regional Chief Conservator of Forest (RCCF) and Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF), Kuldiha reached the spot after being informed by the officials and sent the carcasses for post-mortem.

Although the exact reason behind the deaths is yet to be ascertained, the preliminary investigations suggest that the elephants were suffering from anthrax and this triggers fear amongst the locals.
