The ruling BJD on Friday decided to start its Jansampark Padyatra from October 2 to sensitise people about its various developmental initiatives ahead of the panchayat polls.
The party has announced to take Polavaram multi-purpose dam project and Mahanadi water issues to the people during the month-long ‘padyatra’ across the state.
BJD Chief and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik directed the party workers to hold the drive for a full month from October 2 to November 2.
The BJD announced Pratap Keshari Jena as Chief Convenor of the padyatra committee. Other members of the committee includes Padmanav Behera, Balabhadra Majhi and Pramila Mallick.
