Congress Social Media Cell goes aggressive in Odisha

ONI Bureau: While the BJP has been dominating the social media sphere in Odisha politics on expected lines, BJD has revamped its cell to challenge it with full force. Both parties are highly active at the ground level as well as social media. The Odisha Congress may be behind both parties, but the party is now confident to make its presence felt.

It’s never too late, believes Abhishek Mahananda, State Coordinator (Chairman) of the Social Media & Digital Communications cell. “Although we have arrived late, we have our arms and ammunition ready to take the battle head on. Congress is out of power in Odisha as well as the Centre. So, we have enough data and statistics to expose both parties – BJP and BJD”, he said.

The State Committee has recently been approved by Divya Spandana, National Chairperson, AICC Social Media & Digital Communications. While Abhishek is leading the team as the State Coordinator (Chairman), Engineer Saptagiri Ulaka is the Convener.

Other Members of the Team include Advocate Shamsida Tayab, Sambit Srichandan, Dr. Smrutiranjan Lenka, Engineer Avishekh Rath (Young Actor), Saroj Kanta Sahoo, Kamal Charan Tandi, Advocate Pitabash Panda, Abhilash Pati and Poly Sarkar.

“We are penetrating deep into every nook and corner of Odisha with a target to appoint over 36,000 Booth Coordinators in social media. We are going to appoint District and Assembly Coordinators soon and then go for Booth Coordinators,” said Abhishek Mahananda.

“Both BJD and BJP have failed to live up to the expectations of people of Odisha. They are fooling and misleading people using social media campaign. But, we will counter them using the same tool with accurate news and information and expose them at various levels. They can’t take people for granted anymore”, he added.

Congress will bounce back in Odisha as well at the national level. Punjab and Gujarat have been trend setters. And, our President Rahul Gandhi will lead the charge across the country just like he did in Gujarat,” Abhishek exudes confidence.
