Ganeshi Lal sworn in as Governor of Odisha

ONI Bureau:  Professor Ganeshi Lal on Tuesday sworn-in as the Governor of Odisha at the Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar as per President Ram Nath Kovind’s directions.

Orissa High Court Chief Justice Vineet Saran administered him the oath of the office and secrecy. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Secretary A.P Padhi and many Odisha Ministers were present at the occasion.

Lal was given a Guard of Honour at Bhubaneswar Airport after his arrival on Sunday.

Ganeshi Lal, a BJP leader from Sirsa, Haryana was a Minister in the HVP-BJP Government under Chief Minister Bansi Lal from 1996-99. He is currently working as Chairman of BJP’s Disciplinary Committee.

Earlier, Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik has taken Odisha Governor’s duties in addition to his own duties as the outgoing Governor SC Jamir’s tenure as Governor of Odisha had ended on March 20.
