Konark bandh to increase entry fee for Sun Temple, Konark

The members of Konark Surakhya Samiti on Friday locked the ticket counter at Konark and called for a Konark Bandh. Their demand is to increase entry fee for Sun Temple, Konark.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which looks after the monument, increased the entry fee for the Sun temple from Rs 10 to Rs 30 in case of domestic visitors and from Rs 250 to Rs 500 for foreign visitors. But the Collector had put the implementation of the ASI decision on hold.

The members of the Samiti hold protest in front of the entrance of the Sun temple demanding rollback of the increased entry fee.
