Modi sounds poll bugle in Odisha; calls BJD Govt Corrupt

ONI Bureau: For the first time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came down heavily on the BJD Government in Odisha led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, calling it a corrupt regime where PC (percentage commission) culture is widely prevalent. Modi was addressing a public rally in Jharsuguda after inaugurating the Veer Surendra Sai Airport.

“Corruption is rampant in Odisha. PC culture is stalling the growth and development in the state. Whether Sapling Scam, Cooperative Bank Loan Scam, Sattu (Chhatua) Scam, Road Construction or Irrigation, corruption has spread its base everywhere in Odisha,” he alleged.

“The Odisha Government has now become synonymous with corruption. Corruption and delay in decision-making have become the identity of BJD government, which is creating obstacles in the path of development. The State is lagging behind in many aspects, including healthcare, infant and maternal mortality and malnutrition”.

“We are focusing more on the States that need immediate attention for development. And, we are concerned about Odisha. We want the State get all that it deserves. And, Talcher Fertilizer Plant and Jharsuguda Airport are just the beginning towards achieving that goal,” Modi added.

“We need to wake this government up. Change is imminent in Odisha. The win of change (Parivartan) has started blowing,” Modi told the BJP cadres in order to motivate them further to take on BJD.
