Niladri Bije fiasco: ADJ postpones Bail plea hearing of 9 servitors to Aug 6

The bail plea of 9 sevayats (servitors) of Sri Jagannath Temple, Puri has been postponed to August 6 by the Additional District Judge (ADJ) court today.

The nine servitors were arrested by Puri Police for their involvement in the brawl with District Collector during the Niladri Bije ritual of Lord Jagannath and his siblings at Puri on July 17.

However, police is on search for other eight servitors who were declared as absconders by Puri police.

It is to be noted that Puri SP Sarthak Sarangi has released a poster featuring photos of the eight servitors as ‘absconders’ following the non-bailable warrant issued against them by the Court.
