Noted theatre artiste Nityananda Das dies at 83

ONI Bureau:  Noted theatre artiste and director Nityananda Das breathed his last at a private hospital in Puri late on Wednesday night. He was 83.

The mortal remains of Das were taken to the Annapurna Theatre where several artists went to pay respect to the departed soul.

Conferred with the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2006, Das had directed over 50 dramas and played instrumental roles in more than 150 stage plays.
