Notification for elections to 3 Rajya Sabha seats in Odisha issued

ONI Bureau: The Odisha Assembly Secretariat on Monday issued notification for elections to three Rajya Sabha seats scheduled to be held on March 23.

As per the notification, filling of nomination will continue till March 12 from today between 11 am and 3 pm. Likewise, the scrutiny of nominations is March 13 while that for withdrawal is March 15.

Worth mentioning, the tenure of AU Singhdeo (BJD), Dilip Tirkey (BJD) and AV Swami (Independent) ends on April 2, 2018.

Notably, the tenure of 58 members from the States of Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Rajasthan and Telengana will complete their term in April 2018.
