Odia Filmmaker’s Movie Declared Winner At Global India International Film Festival

Abhishek Swain’s silent short film ‘Life Drop’ was declared a winner in the advertisement category at the Global India International Film Festival on Monday.
The movie depicts the condition of tribal areas where every 30 seconds a child dies by consuming contaminated water which is a matter of concern. The subject of the background has been portrayed with the background sound of a timer referring to countdown. The sound of water drops is compared with the life of a baby.
The entire movie was shot in three days centering the use of water. The film maker tried to highlight child mortality due to the everyday usage of contaminated water beginning from bathing to drinking and cooking.
The duration of the movie is 30 seconds and was shot in Bonda Hills in Koraput.

The film which was released seven months ago, got rejected at a film festival in Odisha as the jury couldn’t comprehend the theme of the movie but one of the Jury members suggested to enter the movie in the National Film Festival.
