Odisha CM inaugurates Biju Expressway at Jharsuguda

ONI Bureau:  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Sambalpur-Rourkela Biju Expressway (162 km) at Panchpada High School in Jharsuguda today.

The four laning of Sambalpur- Rourkela section of SH-10 is one of the longest stretch of 650 km long Biju Expressway. Built at Rs 1,292 Crore, the Sambalpur-Rourkela Expressway (162 km) is now open to public.

As per report, the 650-km-long four-lane Biju Expressway (Chandili-Rourkela) is built at a cost of Rs 3,200 Crore.

The Biju Expressway passes through three important western districts- Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.

The expressway will connect many border towns of western and south Odisha including Chandli, Boriguma, Nabarangpur, Papadahandi, Behella, Nuapada, Ambapani, Dharmagarh, Sinapali, Sohela, Paikmal, Padmapur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, and Rourkela. The road project would also pass through four KBK districts, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi and Nuapada.
