Odisha to get three more Planetariums

Odisha to get three more new planetariums, said an official on Wednesday.

The Science and Technology Department has decided to construct these new projects at Gopalpur in Ganjam district, at Baripada in Mayurbhanj district and in Rayagada districts.

While land for the project in Ganjam has been identified near Berhampur University in Gopalpur, the identification of land is on in Mayurbhanj and in Rayagada district.

Rs. 12 crore has been estimated to be spent towards the construction of the projects.

At present, only one planetarium the ‘Pathani Samanta Planetarium’ in Bhubaneswar is working in Odisha. Another planetarium which has been constructed in Burla is expected to be inaugurated by 2017.
