Odisha Govt to provide Rs 1k Cash, 50 Kg Rice to Ration Card holders in Gajapati

ONI Bureau:  Odisha Government will provide Rs 1000 Cash and 50 Kg Rice to each Ration Card holders in cyclone hit Gajapati district from tomorrow morning, informed Chief Secretary today.

After reviewing relief & rehabilitation measures currently underway in cyclone & flood-hit Gajapati district, Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi informed to media persons that the ration available to the beneficiaries under both National Food Security Act (NFSA) and State Food Security scheme (SFSS) will be given Rs 1000 Cash and 50 Kg Rice. By doing so, 90% of the families in Gajapati district will be covered, Padhi added.

Besides, 2.5 litres of subsidized kerosene will be made available to each consumer. Sanitation facility will be provided by engaging extra teams.

Padhi also confirmed that by tomorrow evening, power will be restored to all consumers in block headquarters and connection to each house hold will be restored in a phase-wise manner by October 20.

The severe cyclonic storm ‘Titli’ that caused extensive damage in south and coastal Odisha has claimed 18 lives so far in Gajapati district.
