Orissa HC disqualifies Congress MLA Jogesh Singh

ONI Bureau: The Orissa High Court has disqualified two-time Congress MLA Jogesh Singh for submitting fake caste certificate during the 2014 elections.

The HC took the decision on the basis of complaints filed by BJP candidate Sahadev Xaxa and another voter Ajay Patel. Jogesh alleged submitted fake caste certificate to become eligible to fight the assembly polls from Sundargarh (ST) seat. He won the polls by a margin of 12,584 votes.

While Jogesh Kumar Singh polled 66,138 votes, BJD candidate Kusum Tete got 53,554 votes. BJP candidate Sahadev Xaxa got 27,935 votes.
