Orissa High Court issues notice to Centre, State over Nagada Malnutrition Deaths

The Orissa High Court on Monday issued a notice to the Centre and State Government of Odisha following the malnutrition death in Nagada region of Jajpur district.

Notably, at least 19 malnourished children died in Nagada village earlier and several other children are suffering from malnutrition in the area.

In this connection, the five-member Central fact-finding team of the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, State Government representatives and leaders of various parties have visited the site.

Odisha Government has already taken steps to provide better food, clean drinking water and other facilities. Road construction work is also going in full swing to get better road connectivity to Nagada.
