The Railway Board has rejected Odisha’s request to cancel trains from Chhattisgarh in view of the rising cases in the neighbouring state.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra had written a letter to the Railway Board, requesting cancellation of trains from Chhattisgarh.
In its reply, the Railway Board the trains will function as per the Home Ministry guidelines issued on March 23. However, he assured that the Railways will notify the passengers to travel with caution through messages and announcements.
Odisha has already restricted movements from Chhattisgarh by road.
