Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, on Friday, initiated a 14-day ‘Mask Abhiyaan’ in Odisha to curb the infection rate.
The Chief Minister released a video message addressed to the people of Odisha today, in which announced the ‘Mask Abhiyaan’ initiative.
He asked everyone not to venture outside without wearing masks and sought women to proactively propagate it.
In the wake of rising cases, the State Government has also doubled the fine imposed for not wearing face masks.
In the revised fine set-up, people violating rules will have to pay Rs 2000 for the first two violations and Rs 5000 for subsequent violations.
