SC stays poll irregularities case against Tara Prasad Bahinipati

ONI Bureau:  Giving a major relief, the Supreme Court on Monday stayed poll irregularities case against Congress’ Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati.

Earlier, the Orissa High Court served notices asking Jeypore MLA Tara Bahinipati and Titilagarh legislator Tukuni Sahu to appear before court over alleged poll irregularities.

It is to be noted that Jaypore’s BJD candidate Rabi Nanda, who lost to Bahinipati, requested the court to declare the general election of the year 2014 invalid.

Notably, the brother and nephew of Bahinipati were attacked by a group of BJD activists inside a hotel room.
