Security tightened as Martyr’s Week of Maoists begins in Odisha

ONI Bureau: In view of the martyr’s week of Maoists starting today, security has been tightened in the naxal dominated districts in Odisha.

CPI (Maoist) have called for observing the Martyrs’ Week from July 28 till August 3 through posters and banners in memory of the militants who have died in fight with security forces.

Maoist posters were found in Niyamgiri of Rayagada district and Baliguda of Kandhamal district on Saturday.

Buses plying from Jeypore and Koraput in 27 routes have been cancelled due to the Saheedd Saptah observing b the red rebels. Police check posts have also been put up in several entrance points into Koraput district.
