Shoes hurled at Odisha CM at Barpali Meeting

ONI Bureau:  Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik once again had a narrow escape as miscreant hurled shoes at the CM while addressing a public meeting at Kumbhari in Barpali on Tuesday.

The incident occurred while Naveen was addressing a meeting in favour of his party candidate Rita Sahu for the Bijepur by-poll.Though the shoes didn’t touch the Chief Minister, CM’s security personnel abled to detained the accused.

The youth has been identified as Kartik Meher, a resident of Padampur. “I don’t support any party, I don’t link to any organization, we need speeches, people have to decide whom to vote” Kartik said after police questioning to him. Reportedly, he had been admitted to Barpali hospital for further treatment.

However, BJP condemned the attack and said there have no place of violence in Democracy but this is the result of resentment of people against the ruling party. Meantime, Congress said this is not an attack on CM but an attack on people of Odisha.
