Six sentenced to 20 years Rigorous Imprisonment for Gangraping Woman

Six people were sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment by a local court in Jajpur district today for raping a married woman in Mangalpur area two-and-a-half years ago.

The court also imposed Rs 5000 fine each,  failing which the jail term would be extended by six more months.

According to the prosecution, the victim, a 37-year-old married woman and mother of four was raped by six people, who found her alone near Mangalpur bus stop.

She has filed complaint in the Sukinda police station in this connection.  Following which all the six rapists were arrested.
