Three killed, as Train hits Car in Odisha

imageThree people were killed when a passenger train rammed into their vehicle in Odisha’s Nuapada district Sunday, police said. The accident took place at an unmanned level crossing near Kalyanpur, about 550 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar.

The car carrying them was crossing the railway track, district superintendent of police Sunil Joshi said. The deceased included a Lawyer and a Raipur-based Engineer.

The Bhabanipatna-Raipur passenger train, which was on its way to Raipur hit the vehicle killing all three people including the driver on the spot, he said. There are 554 unmanned level crossings in Odisha now. They account for many deadly accidents and casualties. (IANS)
