PV Sindhu enters Quarter-finals at Rio Olympics

PV SindhuTwo-time World Championship bronze-medallist P V Sindhu on Monday reached quarterfinals of the women’s singles competition after defeating Chinese Taipei’s Tai Tzu Ying 21-13, 21-15  in Rio Olympics.

The 21-year-old Sindhu will next take on world No. 2 Wang Yihan of China.

Sindhu became the first ever Indian women’s singles player to win a medal at the World Championships in 2013 and received India’s fourth highest civilian honour Padma Shri award in 2015.
