75% Voter turnout in 3rd Phase Panchayat Polls

At least 75 per cent voters turned up to exercise their franchise in the second phase of the Panchayat Polls across 65 blocks in all 30 districts, informed by the State Election Commissioner (SEC) Rabinarayan Senapati.

While Sonepur district recorded highest with 86 per cent, Ganjam district registered the lowest with 66 per cent.

The first phase of panchayat poll recorded 71 per cent turnout, while the second phase recorded 73 per cent.

The third phase voting was held for 175 Zilla Parishad zones, 1,394 Gram Panchayats having 18,859 Wards under 65 blocks in all 30 districts. While, BJD won 87 zilla parishad zones, BJP 62, Congress 15 and Others won in 5 seats reportedly.
