Bhubaneswar bags Best Smart City Award

ONI Bureau:   Odisha’s Capital Bhubaneswar was awarded the ‘Best Smart City’ award at the three-day international conference, ‘Smart City Expo India 2018’ held at Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura on Thursday.

The Capital City received this award for transforming itself through using various initiatives through community mobilisation and community development, a part of the Socially Smart programme.

Notably, Socially Smart Bhubaneswar Initiative of Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) in collaboration with United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) enrolled slums youths in various skill development training programmes of both state and central Government institutions including food processing, electronics repairing, basic computer training and many more.
