Former Odisha Cricketer Yashpal Mohanty dies at 38

Yashpal Mohanty, former Odisha wicketkeeper-batsman, passed away yesterday at the age of 38. He could play just seven matches for Odisha.

He was in Coma for the last two years following a fatal car accident, which also claimed live of one of his co-passengers.

Known as Ben, Yashpal was the son of Odissi dancer Kumkum Mohanty and former IAS officer Madan Mohan Mohanty.

He is survived by his parents, wife and a daughter. He was also practising as a Lawyer at Orissa High Court.
