Heavy rain likely in Odisha; Govt puts Collectors of Coastal dists on alert

ONI Bureau:  As the Regional Meteorological Centre predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall for several parts of coastal districts of Odisha for three days, the state government on Sunday put collectors on alert to tackle any possible situation.

In view of the possible heavy rainfall forecast, collectors of Puri, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Gajnam, Bhadrak and Balasore have been asked to remain alert. Besides, special attention will be given to recently affected Ganjam, Gajapati and Rayagada districts.

Earlier, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted rainfall across Odisha on October 29 and 30 due to low pressure area that likely to form over central west Bay of Bengal around October 29.
