Pre-paid Auto Services launched in Bhubaneswar

imageThe per-paid auto services have been launched in Bhubaneswar yesterday by Tourism Minister Ashok Panda. The services will be available at Master Canteen Railway Station, Baramunda Bus Stand and KIIT Square. The initiative will be jointly undertaken by the Commissionerate Police, RTO and Auto Association. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will launch the service.

In the first phase, 100 pre-paid autos will be available at the Railway Station. The Baramunda Bus Stand will also have the same number of auto-rickshaws. 50 autos will be available at the KIIT Square in Patia.

For the pre-paid auto service, passengers will have to pay Rs 30 for the first two kms and Rs 10 per km for the next 20 kms. If the distance exceeds 22 km, then they will have to pay Rs 8 per km. These charges are applicable only in day hours. From 10 PM till 5 AM, the charges for first two kms will be Rs 50 and then for the subsequent distances, the charges will be hiked by 30%.

Apart from Mr. Ashok Panda, DGP Sanjeev Marik, Police Commissioner Dr. RP Sharma, DCP Satyabrata Bhoi and MLAs – Bijay Mohanty, Priyadarshi Mishra, Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Odisha Auto Association President Subash Singh, Bhubaneswar Auto Association President Bana Mohanty and Bank of India Zonal Manager Suresh Chandra Sarangi were present on the occasion.
