Student Union Polls cancelled across Odisha in view of Cyclone Titli

ONI Bureau:  The Students’ Union elections have been cancelled across Odisha as ‘Titli’ turns into very severe cyclonic storm, Chief Secretary AP Padhi informed today.

The college students union elections, earlier scheduled to be held on Thursday.

The decision have been taken today as Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik held a high-level meeting over Titli Cyclone in Bhubaneswar earlier today. Chief Minister also asked the collectors of Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Kendrapara and Jagtsinghpur districts to go for an immediate evacuation of people in the low-laying areas in the coastal belt.

In view of heavy rain, East Coast Railway (ECoR) cancelled train services on Khurda Road to Vijayanagaram route from 10 pm today until further orders.

Flood situation expected in Rushikulya and Bansadhara river system, the Water Resources Secretary Pradeep Jena informed.
