Abhijit Iyer-Mitra arrested by Commissionerate Police

ONI Bureau:  The Twin City Commissionerate Police today arrested Delhi-based journalist Abhijit Iyer Mitra in connection with case filed at Sahid Nagar Police Station over his derogatory remarks against Odisha, Konark Sun temple and State MLAs, informed Zonal ACP.

Soon after his deposition before the Odisha Assembly House Committee, Saheed Nagar Police immediately took Abhijit into custody and was being interrogated at an undisclosed location.

It is to be noted that case against Abhijit Iyer has been registered in Saheed Nagar Police Station on September 20 under section 153-A, 295-A and 298 of the Indian Penal Code and section 66 of IT Act.
